The short version: we collect what we need to run the site and the newsletter, we don't sell your data to data brokers, and we try to explain the parts most policies bury in paragraph nine. The full version is below.
01. Who this policy covers
This policy explains how Cryptoblogga ("we," "us") handles information when you read the site, subscribe to our newsletter, comment on an article, or otherwise interact with us.
This site is operated by Abiodun Michael, based in Lagos, NG. Contact for privacy matters: privacy@cryptoblogga.com.
02. What we collect, and why
Information you give us directly
- Newsletter sign-up: your email address, and nothing else we ask for. We don't require a name.
- Comments: the display name and email you enter on the comment form. Your email is never shown publicly.
- Contact forms and tip submissions: whatever you choose to include. Please don't send us documents containing other people's personal data unless it's directly relevant to a story tip.
Information collected automatically
- Standard server logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps, kept for up to 90 days for security and abuse prevention.
- Analytics data on which articles get read, how long people stay, and what device categories are common — see our Cookie Policy for the specific tools we use.
- Ad-related identifiers set by our advertising partners, described in the Cookie Policy.
We are not building a profile of your trading activity, wallet holdings, or on-chain behavior from your visits to this site. We have no way to connect your reading habits here to any wallet address, and we have no interest in trying to.
03. How we use this information
| Purpose | Data used | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Sending the newsletter | Email address | Your consent, given at sign-up |
| Running and securing the site | Server logs, IP address | Legitimate interest |
| Understanding readership | Aggregated analytics data | Legitimate interest / consent, depending on region |
| Showing relevant ads | Ad identifiers, cookies | Consent, via the cookie banner |
| Responding to tips or enquiries | Whatever you send us | Legitimate interest / contract |
04. Who we share it with
We use a small number of processors to run the site: our hosting provider, our email delivery service for the newsletter, our analytics provider, and our advertising network. Each only receives the data it needs to do its specific job. We do not sell personal information to third parties, and we do not share your email list with advertisers.
05. How long we keep it
Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Comment data is kept for as long as the comment remains published. Server logs roll off after 90 days.
06. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. If you're in the EU or UK, this falls under the GDPR; if you're a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you comparable rights. To exercise any of these, email privacy@cryptoblogga.com from the address associated with your account and we'll respond within the timeframe the relevant law requires.
07. Children
This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.
08. Intellectual properties
We do not publish any copyrighted images such as photographs, illustrations, or digital graphics. All images in this blog are free public images. Contact us if we published your copyrighted images, we will remove it immediately.
09. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for changes that affect newsletter subscribers directly, note it in the newsletter itself rather than leaving you to notice the timestamp changed.
